The wave of digitization has enabled all industries to embrace the use of Artificial intelligence technologies in their research and development strategies. This has led to diversification in IP subject matter compared to what core industries have been dealing with for decades, primarily due to changing technical agenda to software-based inventions. Developing IP strategies dealing with such inventions has been challenging, due to the special place in IP law for software-based inventions, which affect AI inventions. Stakeholders in the innovation value chain have struggled to adopt sound IP protection strategies.

In this regard, we have gathered together a panel of experts to shed light on IP strategies for AI inventions and share insights on :

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding the diversification of technical competencies in research; having a plan to deal with the change & how to build patent portfolios of AI-based inventions.
  • Analysing the changing technical nature of inventions and how to deal with the invention scope.
  • Understanding technical development lifecycle of AI/ML inventions and IP strategies to deal with it.

Speakers:
